They will try something, and then they don't stick with it.\u00a0<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anybody who's starting needs to be over-committed for at least the first 90 days. If you're going to do video, do it every single day for 90 days. If you're going to podcast, do it every single day for 90 days. If you're going to write, do it every day.\u00a0<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Immerse yourself in the experience.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>[16:05]<\/b><\/span><b> \u2013 The challenge with Gen X and baby boomers when ego takes over.<\/b><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If somebody is retiring from their job, and they're embarking upon something new like this, they are nobody. And if you have been a somebody, then that creates a lot of conflict and discomfort, and you don't know how to get back that sense of identity.\u00a0<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are afraid of the beginner's mind, and we forget that we were able to accomplish great things in life, and that those skills and characteristics that helped us to do that will help us do it in the next chapter.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>[18:03]<\/b><\/span><b> \u2013 Setting goals to ensure that you\u2019re on the right path.<\/b><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The measurement of success that we should all be tied to is progress.\u00a0<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strategy is top down; it's not bottom up.\u00a0<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It's not about improving the baseline of zero. It's about moving towards the goal.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>[20:56]<\/b><\/span><b> \u2013 Walking through the coaching process.<\/b><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ask: What is the objective of my business? What is it that I'm trying to accomplish here? What difference am I trying to make? Who is my buyer?<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set some measurements of success that help you to see the progress that you\u2019re making on this journey.\u00a0<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Look at your thought leadership and decide: Are you creating content? Are you creating IP? What structures and formats are you going to use to get their message out there? And then how can you use social media to expand your reach and find more of the right people?<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Look for ways to participate in the conversation that your buyers are having.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take a really good, hard look at your website, and ask yourself: Is my website attractive to a buyer? Is it clear what I do? Is it a place that they go and say, \u201cThis person can help me?\u201d Or is it a place that they go and find that they can't really articulate what it is that you do?<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>[25:26]<\/b><\/span><b> \u2013 Turning fans into customers.<\/b><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People have got to be curious while they're on the journey.\u00a0<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>[30:00]<\/b><\/span><b> \u2013 Engaging in conversations: Worthwhile lessons in marketing.<\/b><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can never serve your whole community.
