Which Social Media Dashboard is Best for You?

Social Media Management Dashboards have become an indispensable communications management tool for organizations and businesses of all sizes. So much information is put out into the nether of the internet and most of it goes unnoticed. Sometimes you need a bit of help to find what you’re looking for or to manage what you’ve already found. This is where the two most popular dashboards, Hootsuite and Agora Pulse come in. Both are robust management tools for your various social media accounts, however, both are best suited for very different roles and knowing which is best for what will help you to set up your social media management system to be as effective as it can be. Hootsuite v. Agora Pulse Hootsuite is a Vancouver-based company that has entrenched itself as the leader amongst social media management tools. What I personally find Hootsuite best used for is it’s ability to research and filter social media feeds. This ensures that only relevant content is being delivered through to my dashboard. Much of this functionality comes from the structure of Hootsuite; it is set-up to provide ‘streams’ of information to your dashboard whereas Agora Pulse functions much more like your text messaging app where each individual message is added to a single flow of information. In Hootsuite this means you can parse out more information, at a faster rate. Hootsuite’s social media coverage therefore is a mile wide but an inch deep. The strength of San Francisco-based Agora Pulse is it allows for a much higher degree of micro-management of individual conversations you are having online. For example you can select a single social media message such as a tweet or a Facebook post, and you can assign that message to someone within your organization for them to respond to. This streamlines the communication process and helps to ensure that the right people are responding to the right messages. As a result, Agora Pulse really shines when you need to have single conversations that go in depth, it may only be a few inches wide but it’s a mile deep! Cost Now, when choosing the best social media dashboard for your uses, invariably you will come up with the question of which is more cost effective. Hootsuite for example provides four different packages of their dashboard.
