Sharing Docs in Google Drive

It’s one minute tech tip time- tips so good they can make you smarter in 60 seconds. One of the best things about Google Drive is the document sharing feature. With just a couple of clicks, you can send anyone a shareable link and give them the power to read, comment or edit your document. It takes collaboration to the next level! To share a document in Google Docs, select the Share button in the top right-hand corner. From here, you’ve got a number of different options! You can share the document with someone by using their email or you can get a shareable link. You control all the permissions! When you share the link you can:
  • Give them permission to just view the document
  • Give them permission to comment on the document
  • Give them permission to edit the document
And we can go one step further. If you click on more, you can adjust your base permissions. Now you can set your default to:
  • Make links available to the public so that anyone on the web can find them
  • Make it so that anyone with the link can access the content
  • Turn off link sharing so that only select people can access the content
You can modify or revoke access at any time!

Until next time, have fun storming the castle!
