Writing is a form of art, and I am no artist. However, as I continue my journey to provide the public with relevant and timely content, I find it challenging to ensure that my message is clear and efficient. Creating content is fun, rewarding and fulfilling. With that said it is also sometimes difficult. So, if you’re anything like me, then you need a little help along the way. As an entrepreneur, I find myself in a situation that many can relate to. I NEED an editor now, not tomorrow, or next week! We are producing so much content and needing to deliver that information in a timely manner or else it loses its relevance. Let’s say I want to hire an editor to review all my posts, blogs, and newsletters, what would that look like? My first option is to take to the internet and try and find an editor for hire. Sure I’ll find them, but are they in the same time zone as am I? Are they available when I need them to be? Chances are no and no! Option one #fail! I need editing when I need it, not when it is convinient for the editor. Option two, I can turn to outsourcing services like Fiverr and Upwork. These services are affordable to hire, but you may lose a little in the way of quality when it comes to editing your content. Often these outsourcers are located overseas and there is no way to assure quality. Option two is a no-go There are software solutions that are readily available. I personally use and like Grammarly, which is a simple, useful application that can integrate with Windows or Mac OS. As the name states, Grammarly focuses on spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure. The app is great, it saves me time and ensures most of my mistakes are caught. But nothing beats the eyes of an experienced LIVE EDITOR on your copy, NOTHING! Well, I’m here to tell you life is excellent! Editorr is a San Diego based company that is revolutionizing the proofreading industry. They provide on-demand access to a network of professional editors. It has been called “the Uber for writing”. Currently, Editorr is only available for English writing but plans to expand to other languages in the future. The timeframe is fast, typically 5-10 minutes! Now keep in mind that’s for short for submissions. So this works great for social media posts, blog posts, newsletters and so on. The editing interface is relatively straightforward. You can type directly into it or you can paste from another source. The requests are then sent out to a network of qualified editors who are pinged on their mobile device that there is a job in the queue. An editor accepts, reviews the submission and replies with the revisions, all within minutes. Since April 1st, over 3600 users have signed up for Editorr. There has been over 5000 downloads on iOS and 250 on Android. It is rapidly growing in popularity and is an excellent service for any size business. Their base packages are affordable, approximately $.03/word. They also offer a business solution for those that produce larger volumes of content. All these packages are located on their website editorr.com.
