Everyone knows that when it comes to Music and Graphics you can’t beat a Mac, and one of the most popular computers with students everywhere is Apple’s MacBook. The MacBook handles everything that students have come to expect from Apple – style, grace and a very small footprint. Steve looks at the main features and benefits of this popular notebook. When it comes to working on essays or assignments the MacBook can run a wide range of today’s popular applications such as Microsoft Office, or Apples own Pages and Numbers. It even does Windows!
But when the school work is over, the MacBook really shines. It comes bundled with Apple’s amazing iLife suite of digital lifestyle applications enriching student life with photos, music, and video, or lets them cruise the internet using Apple’s popular Safari browser.

Today is the day for the big switch! If you have decided try walking the Apple side of the street, then tune in to find out how to transfer all your Windows data onto the Mac. Microsoft Office may supply all the tools you need from 9 to 5, but when it’s time for fun and you’re ready to create something spectacular, you won’t find a set of creative resources that’s better or easier to use than iLife. This week we are going to walk on the mac side of creative computing. We are going to start with the amazing new music creation application, GarageBand (which we covered in depth last season) and then move through iPhoto, iMovie and finally iDVD, giving you a really good sense of a project from beginning to end in iLife, it is going to be a blast, don't miss it!
This week we are going to have a little apple show and tell just before christmas, and we are going to start with the iSight/iChat combo. As soon as you connect the camera to the computer and turn it on, iChat AV begins working with the camera. There are no additional drivers to install, no software to configure and no tedious set-up “wizards” standing between you and your first video chat. That means you’ll have your first video chat in seconds, rather than minutes or hours. iChat AV automatically detects iSight and connects with it. Simply open the iSight lens cap and iChat AV automatically launches and lets your buddies know that you are available for video and audio chatting.
We have talked about iTunes before on this show, given you the basics of who it is and what it does. Today we are going to take it a step further, get under the hood so to say and really see what makes iTunes and its partner the iPod the most popular music solution for PC and Mac users alike.
We have done quite a few shows on the Mac, most of you out there know I play on both sides of the fence. This week we are going to look at the Mac from a new perspective ... the Windows perspective. No we aren't going to have an old western shootout to see who is standing at the end, we are going to show you the harmony that can exist, yes one household, one network, one office, with both Windows and Mac co-existing happily.
