Technology changes so quickly and we are forever updating our gadgets to keep up. Steve takes a look at a few options to be environmently responsible as we replace outdated technology with new. HP has been an eco responible company for quite some time now. They have their return and recycling program, in which you can return your old and used inkjet or laser toner cartridges back to HP at no cost to you. Many HP ink products already come with a return envelope already addressed and stamped in the box but if you need more you can go to HP's Return & Recycling Center webpage to request a recycling envelope. HP is now including a Eco Highlight label on all of their products that outlines information on Energy Star ratings and recycling options after you're done with the product.

Steve introduces you to Free Geek, a non-profit community organization that recycles and refurbishes used technology.  Your can donate you old electronics to Free Geek and they will assess whether your item can be donated to schools and other organizations or whether it can be dismantled and the pieces recycled. Steve takes you on a tour of one of their plants and shows you the what happens once your piece of old technology has been donated.

John Filice,
Hi Fyeve, I have been off for three years now and I catch your 5:00am Broadcast.

I had Cateract Surgery and my vysion is still HAZY and FOGGY, this was to have gone after the surgery,

And when I ask the Cateract surgen his answer is, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, very interesting.

I ham a new user of the iMAC, and your right, it is a nice peice of hardware/software.

But here is my issue, most of the WEB pages appear very light and light BLUE.

So..., here it is: can the screen be made DARKER, instead of all this light that I am having a very frustrating time when I try to read a WEB-PAGE.

Thanks
John
I remember when you use to write about the COMMADOR PET, WOW...!!! was that really 1985?

Long Road...

Good Day,

We are not sure how this could be changed as most times the colors are chosen by the site designer.

Commodore PET

I made a program that solved the 'I.Q. Tester II' puzzle. It was a three hole by three hole cross shape, and starting with the center hole empty, you'd jump pegs vertically or horizontally, and remove them. Anyway, I could get it down to three or four pegs, in various places on the board. But the real prize was getting it down to one peg, in the center! So I programed the Commodore PET at school to do that. With only 2K to spare! Boy how computers have changed!
